Post-Production: Editing Session 1 (Adding Sound & Creating The Split Screen)
06:44
This editing session I worked on the beginning instrumental
So I decided to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro as with my music video there was more complicated things I wanted to achieve.
So the first thing I did was import the clips into Premiere Pro.
Then I imported the music which I downloaded with artist's permission
I knew I wanted to create a split screen effect in my music video so I researched on how to do it in Premiere.
I inserted clips and moved them to one side of the screen
I then inserted another clip alongside it and positioned by scaling and moving so they were proportionate
I used the crop tool too to crop the clip as well as moving them offscreen
I also put on rulers so I could make sure that that both clips were equal in composition.
I also made sure the clips on each side of the split screen started when i wanted to by overlaying the timing of the previous clip so they changed from left to right and shortening them or making them longer to fit in with the beat of the music. In some instances I made clips start later so there was a black screen and I ended the split screen by making the clips finish one after the other in time with the music.
I also did the same thing but with a four-way split screen but with images instead. I chose images that I took in a constant motion one after the other.
I added all the images to the same time frame
I also scaled the images down like the split screen and used the rulers to position them equally
I also added the second image leaving a time gap between the first and second image
I also did the same with the third image
And the fourth image so that the images looked like a constant sequence . I also adjusted them again to make them all proportionate to each other and equal composition in the frame.
So this session I added the sound to my video and created the beginning four-way split screen and the split screen that introduces the beat of the song.
