Casting

I have a few ideas of couples to ask to play the part in my music video, and I will hold auditions for potential couples for the music video. I will be using a check sheet I created with criteria for my music video, that I will be rating each audition with.

I know all of these couples well so I can fill out the first two columns out by my past experiences but I will need to hold auditions for judging how well they can act. I will also need to ask them their availability to the project in this interview.  

The way I will judge their acting is by asking them to play out two scenarios; the first scenario of them arguing/fighting and the second scenario of them messing around with each other. 

Although them fighting isn't relevant to the plot of my music video, it is a good judgement of whether they can act on cue.

This is a good technique to select actors however there may be bias when filling out the first two columns as it is difficult to be objective when judging people you know. Therefore I will have to get a second opinion to validate the first two columns.

Asking them to act is a good, representative way of judging their acting skills and has validity when it comes to acting in my music video. And asking them whether they can commit to the project is essential as I need to ensure that my project is successful and people don't drop out.
