Pre-Production Planning: Final Casting Decisions

So based on what i have learnt through the casting process is that Jay and Nicole are my ideal couple for my music video. They are very comfortable with each other,they fit my genre well and are good actors.
In my music video, Nicole will have the main female role. I believe Nicole suits this role well as one of my criteria for my actors is for them to be teenagers which both Jay and Nicole fit into, as my music video follows a young relationship. Nicole also fits well into my inspired genre which is Indie which I know as she is a good friend of mine and I know her fashion sense very well.
Jay and Nicole are one of the most comfortable couples with each other as I know from past experiences. I have also used them as a couple in past media projects I have done and have found them easy to work with. They also ticked the criteria for matching the genre indie as both of their clothing styles fit into this genre very well. Also as I will be choosing costume and props anyway, this isn't too significant but it certainly helps my music video as it won't be too difficult finding clothing for them. I also know that they can act well, and are very good actors from the audition task and previous media projects I have done with them show they are very comfortable in acting with each other and are good actors on demand. Speaking to them about timing and availability for this project is essential, and I have spoken to them about this. Nicole is very much easily available as I see her very often but Jay lives away at college, however he is willing to help me with my music video and doesn't mind committing to it. Therefore I will need to make a schedule around when Jay is available to come down from his college.

I also chose Nicole as Drama is one of her big passions as she has studied it at GCSE and is currently studying it as an A-level. She also wants to go on further and study Drama at an undergraduate level. Therefore her experience with acting and having Drama as such a big part of her life will be very beneficial for my music video as I know that Nicole is a natural actor.
The other actor in my Music video is another friend of mine who is Jay. I decided to go with a heterosexual couple in the end as I feel that it would relate to my target audience more. I cast Jay as I have already worked with both him and Nicole, before in previous media projects and I have seen them act as a couple in front of a camera. Jay also fits well into my genre of Indie as again he is one of my good friends and I know his sense of style very well. Jay has also had previous drama experience, acting in different A-level media projects as well as one of my own. Jay and Nicole are a real life couple, which is one of the main reasons I chose to cast them as a couple over having actors who pretend to be a couple as I wanted to portray a genuine relationship. I also cast Jay and Nicole as they are both good friends of mine and I know that I can work well with them and get along with them nicely.
